PKNCSU
Our meetup will include the following: 1. Introductions 2. Warmup 3. Practice some Parkour Moves 4. We will play follow the leader, capture the flag (s), or TAG (in a smaller area to promote more efficient movement and quick thinking skills) Make sure you wear lose clothing because it gets hot when you're moving. Finger cut-off gloves (biking gloves) may be useful if you're a beginner, although wearing gloves may inhibit your ability to 'feel' the obstacles and keep you from toughening up your hands. We'll start with a warm-up which includes but is not limited to: stretches, jumps, rolls and crawling so that everyone has a basic workable knowledge of the movement patterns and be more safe during our drills. Things you will need: -Comfortable athletic shoes--with good grip, support, and impact absorption, sometimes with insoles. -Light T-shirt, sleeveless shirt or crop top. -Light pants (trousers for British English) or light shorts. -Comfortable underwear. -Optional sweat-bands for forearm protection. Location: We will meet here next to the Arts buildings: http://www.raleighnc.gov/publications/Parks_and_Recreation/Pullen_Park_Map.pdf We'll be meeting at the picnic table at Pullen Park next to the Theater. From Hillsborough Street turn onto Pullen Park Road and enter into the circle/round about. Take the third exit off the circle to the right to the theater/Pullen Park. There are various places to park - please make sure you read the signs! If you have not signed a waiver (you can find these on the site too, under files) make sure you see Mike before participating in any group activity! We'll leave the picnic table location after about 15 minutes of warm ups.My cellular is [masked] If it rains, we usually cancel the meetup. Membership dues and donations: There is a fee for the organizer to set up and keep this meetup group, so dues are preferred. Donations are appreciated and can be made to Mike via paypal. Check out the "About Us" section at the bottom for more info.
