I'm moving back to Apex in the next two weeks after living in Franklin, Virginia for a few months after graduating. I worked at a paper mill for a while as a process engineer, but now I'm returning to the Raleigh area as a consultant in the chemical industry. I always enjoyed this area and love to explore it and meet new people. I love finding new places, cooking, traveling. I'm originally from Massachusetts where I was born, raised, and educated but after college I've lived in Virginia (DC area), New York (Long Island), and most recently (and for the foreseeable future) North Carolina. Ever since I was first exposed to computer in Kindergarten (1986) I've been hooked on them and as a result I've built my life around them. I went to school for computers, have a job utilizing those skills, and derive entertainment from them as well.

I am have been divorced for 8 years and have spent that time mostly devoted to raising my kids, currently 14 and 16, to an age of respect and responsibility. They have nowreached a point where I can have more freedom and I am now desirous of re-establishing myself in the role of more than "just Mom" in that I want a social life too. I am a nurse at a major medical center and have been at my current job fore 21 years. When I am in a relationship I give it my all and I cherrish my partner. I have a very loving and passionate nature, am enjoying new life experiences (we went to Europe- Spain/Portugal- and just got back on April 5), and plan on doing more of the same. There are many things that I want to achieve and achievement is much more fun with a life partner. I love life and look very young for my age. I am originally from Ohio and a graduate of BGSU. Of the past 15+ years (late 1994 to present), 11 have been spent in the Tarheel and have been bouncing around the USA, Ohio or South Korea for the other four.

I've done alot of things for fun (and some crazy sh!t in general): static line parachuting in the Army (job function); skydived (was a goal, but also did it to try to win a girls heart); scuba dived; hiked and mountain biked the mountains of S. Korea and visited the Buddhist Monks; explored Oahu (long before LOST ever showed up -- North Shore and eastern sides of the island rock!); hung out on Waikiki; took surfing lessons down in Wilmington; rappelled off of trail trestles (little to much liquid courage that day); taken in alot of concerts; and participated in a 10,000 person, mutli-day walking festival near Seogwipo on Cheju-Do Island as 1 of only 6 Americans present; and almost visited China (Bejing and the Great Wall but North and South Korea got into a pissing match and lobbed projectiles at one anothers ships in the Yellow Sea, thus causing a cancellation of my trip... bastards!) This should give you a snapshot of me =)

I enjoy watching most sports, tailgating and rooting for the following teams: Ohio State Buckeyes, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Tigers, Hurricanes for hockey and love going to watch the Durham Bulls play ball in the summer. I have not yet chosen a local college team, anyone want to help influence my decision making?

This part is a little awkward for me. It's difficult to describe oneself in a few short words or sentences. I prefer to meet people and allow them make their own judgments. My little girls' hugs, a late fall sunrise in the woods, a kiss to that spot on my neck, the smell of blackpowder in October... these are a few of my favorite things.

THINGS I LIKE: My two little girls - I love to hear their voices, see their smiles, and kiss them to bed. Quality time with a muzzle-loader or lever rifle during deer season brings a smile (or any other time of the year, for that matter). In the fall I hunt, in the spring I fish (not all that much, this spring).

Bicycling is great fun, and good for me - and I can do it often. I ride an old Trek 930. A bike ride is a fine way to meet - do you have one? Onroad, or off - but if you're a hard-core road rider with a high-dollar carbon fiber bike, please be gentle. Took a ride recently with my 5 y/o Saturday - her first with Daddy. Still in training wheels, but that'll change soon enough.

My favorite places in fall are... somewhere near white oaks & cover, as that is where the deer are. Roadtrips to the beach - or a day trip anywhere with a friend (or You) is worthwhile. Where friends gather, is where I want to be. And if the Right One is reading this... I'll want to be where you are.

I go to church - well, no, I don't, not lately. Or not much. I've got some issues there. But I'd like to get past them, as I still believe the Nicene Creed. I used to know everything, but not anymore. I used to know a guy named Jack Schitt, but lately, I don't know Jack anymore (gee, I may re-write this part...)

What am I looking for, why am I here? I want... companionship. I want to connect with you, assuming you're here somewhere. I want YOU to conspire with, plan with, scheme with... someone to accompany me on the rest of these days through life. Passion met.

I love life. I don't see a point in dwelling on things, which may actually give my greatest fault of not being able to hold a grudge. One of my main drives in life is learning new things and taking on new challenges, then logically solving them. I guess in short, I'm just a pretty easy going guy.

Well lets see, I'm a single gentle giant of a man, who is 6'5 and 280 pounds, but I have the personality of a big ole teddy bear. I'm very easy going by nature and easier to get along with. I'm completely independent, with no baggage (Unless it fits in the over head compartment) I have a pretty good sense of humer, and I can be a real prankster at times! Basically, I'm pretty down to earth, like to laugh, and enjoy trying new things. I'm very up-front, so if you can't handle me being direct... you can skip ahead to the next chick. I don't like games. Kids play games, and I'm a grown woman.

I love making people laugh! But I have a serious side too. I say what I mean, and mean what I say. I want somebody that I can have fun, relax, and most importantly laugh with. I'm pretty sarcastic and want to be able to banter back and forth. Though, I need to work on that, because sarcasm is just the intelligent's way of insulting the dumb.

I can rock out at concerts, hop on a skateboard, be a snow bunny... I love snowboarding... though I haven't been in a while :( and I love sports. Yes... I said it.. I love sports. I have a fantasy football team, I love baseball games, starting to like soccer, I'm addicted to hockey, and don't even get me started trash talking my teams! I actually work in broadcasting for NC State football and basketball games, and Carolina Hurricanes hockey games. It's the best deal to get paid to watch a game I'd watch anyways. haha I also just played golf for the first time... had a lot more fun than I expected!

Aside from my love for sports, I absolutely love to just relax. Then again, who doesn't? I love finding a good book that you can't put down, or listening to that perfect song on repeat, or snuggling up on the couch for a good movie.

This is my situation: I'm British, but have lived in the U.S. for 18 years, and Zimbabwe and S. Africa before that. I'm very recently divorced. I currently live with my three children, ages 10, 7 & 5, my sister, age 15, my dog, age 9, and my three cats, ages 6, 2 & 1. They all keep me very busy!!! Hi there! I'm a fun, intelligent, active woman who loves being outdoors and has big blue eyes and a smile to match. I have great friends and family and an interesting job (computers) that pays all the bills. I don't really consider myself from any where. I am most recently from St. Louis, but previous to that I have lived in Seattle, Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando, Central Missouri, South Georgia, and even a short stay in Argentina. Hey.... Nice to "meet" you. I'm going to grad school. I'm hoping to make more new friends and keep from becoming too likely to hang out alone. I'm trying to figure out what I want out of life - sometimes I have a pretty good idea, and sometimes I wonder. I'm not always sure I like being an adult, there are too many important decisions to make. I'm definitely a child at heart, but less innocent and straight-laced that some people sometimes think. I'm a pretty open and friendly person.

The only magazine subscription I had during high school was to Sports Illustrated. I enjoy watching sports, especially football and basketball. Go Spurs Go!! None of my past boyfriends have really liked sports, and I really want to make some new friends to watch sports with - it's so much more fun when you share the experience with someone, and have someone to talk to about games, standings, rules etc. Durham Bulls games are fun too, and I like living somewhere I can go to decent college sports now as well, I need to take advantage of that more.

I like dancing, took a couple ballroom dance classes and like to go out salsa dancing occasionally. I'm not incredibly creative but like working on a cross stitching or knitting project to keep myself busy sometimes. I was in band in HS and loved it, although I don't play much anymore.

Well I never was very good at the "self summary" thing. I can tell you that I do start out a little on the shy side. I'm not sure why that is. I am an omnivore - meaning I enjoy eating meat, but I also like quite a few vegetables. Cooking is a hobby of mine - I love trying new recipes as well as making old favorites for others to try.

I like to read before bed, I have a love/hate relationship with my lawn, I enjoy a well written tv show or movie, love to go for walks and runs. I enjoy experiencing other cultures (including US subcultures) and learn something about myself while learning about the other culture. I enjoy the flea market because there are always new things to see. I get grumpy when I'm tired, but I'm almost never intentionally mean. I can power through most of my grocery shopping and get stuck deciding which cheese to buy. I like window shopping. I love music - most styles have something I enjoy.

My religious beliefs are somewhere between "spiritual but not religious" and agnostic.

I've been divorced for over four years and get along well with my ex and her husband. I try to reduce baggage and stress in my life wherever I can. My children spend alternate weekends with me and I see them regularly between those weekends.

Honesty is important to me. I can usually tell when someone is lying to me. It's a convenient talent, but not often pleasant. As such, I much prefer tactful bad news to a white lie.
